Deposit:
A non-refundable deposit of £100.00 is payable to secure a place on any 10 week or 4 day course, the balance to be paid not less than 3 weeks prior to the commencement of the course. The final date for payment will be indicated on the course invoice which will be sent to you when you book. After this date, course places will no longer be reserved and re-booking at this stage will mean payment of the full course fee (provided there is room on the course. Deposits and full fees are not transferable.

For Saturday one-day courses, a non-refundable deposit including VAT of £30.00 is required. The same conditions apply as for 10 week course deposits.

Bookings on any course are accepted at the discretion of the tutor.

Refunds:
Refunds, excluding the non-returnable deposit, can only be given if notice is received at least three weeks prior to the commencement of the course.

Course Dates:
These will be as published. However, if in exceptional circumstances we have to alter course dates, students will be offered an alternative.

Personal Property:
Students should safeguard personal property as The Mill Studio cannot be responsible for loss of, or damage to, personal belongings from the studio or from cars.

Safety:
Students working on location are advised not to work out of sight or sound of at least one other student.
Spring term courses
Life Drawing and Painting Workshop
Tuesdays.
5.00pm to 8.00pm
This is an untutored workshop concentrating on longer poses over several weeks. Participants may use their preferred medium and may work on short pieces or more major works as they wish.
No booking required, but please arrive in good time. Course Fee: £16.00 per workshop
No workshop 14th February (half-term).

Painting in oils
10 week course Wednesdays
beginning 11th January 2012
10.00am to 1.00pm
Tutor: Piers Ottey
A lively and varied course covering all aspects of Oil Painting. Students are encouraged and helped to develop their own unique style through varied and enticing subject matter. This course relies on an exciting mix of beginners and experts. There are talks, critiques, visits and practical help. We do not rely on still life subjects.
No class 15th February (half-term).

This popular and long running course covers all areas of the subject from metal point and perspective and from contemporary colour work to tonal studies. Subject matter can be as surprising as the results. All abilities welcome.

Watercolour exploration, drawing and Mixed Media
10 week course Thursdays
beginning 12th January 2012

Students may study pure watercolour or may prefer to emphasize other media throughout this course, including collage, gouache or simply drawing. Great fun and for all abilities.

Drawings to Paintings
10 week course Fridays

This course is designed to encourage the development of paintings from drawings and will therefore deal with subject matter as diverse as tavels, figures or other things. There will be help with drawing stages and some location work is possible. This is a flexible and relaxed course to suit the individual. All abilities welcome.
