Established in 1993, The Mill Studio is a working studio run by professional artists which aims to acknowledge peoples potential as individuals rather than promote a house style. Enthusiasm and positivity are the only qualifications required.

Totally independently managed and funded, the studio has become a unique venue quite unlike any other art establishment which runs art courses. From the outset the studio has always relied on recommendation and never on advertising.

In 2001 the Studio moved to its present location, just outside Arundel near the River Arun, The Mill Studio is housed in a converted agricultural barn with off-road parking and full disabled facilities. [download map] The studio has a great atmosphere with wonderful natural lighting and is fully equipped with excellent facilities for painting, ceramics and sculpture.

All classes include mixed abilities and all ages; professionals as well as raw beginners. This has always been an important part of the Studio - not to discriminate by age or ability - but to encourage the unified approach of positivity and enthusiasm. All students are encouraged to take part in discussion evenings, lunches and outings as these out of class projects enhance the studio experience.

There are usually three serious exhibitions at the Studio each year showing an eclectic and interesting mix of work. Some shows are solo and some mixed.
These are held in August, December and April.
